The University of Cambridge dates back to the 13th century, which gives the town its unique atmosphere as well as providing examples of some of the most outstanding architecture to be seen anywhere in Europe. Visitors should not miss the magnificent college buildings or the beautiful 'Backs' - the lawns that sweep down to the river from the backs of the colleges. There are museums and galleries to suit every taste from the technical to the artistic. Cambridge has four theatres, two main concert halls, an 'art' cinema as well as commercial multi-screens and innumerable other venues for live performances of all kinds, including classical, jazz and the latest rock music. Those who like sport will find plenty to do: there are several swimming pools and a sports hall, as well as many fitness clubs and classes.
A full Pre-Course Pack containing your time-table, maps and guides will be sent to you before your course begins, and when you arrive our Social Organiser will deal with any questions you have and help you to book excursions and other activities, as well as dealing with practical things such as opening bank accounts.
