SOCIAL LIFE IN CAMBRIDGE

At ABC LANGUAGES  our Social Activities Organiser will help you enjoy your time in Cambridge to the full. We offer  day trips every weekend to places of interest such as York, Canterbury, Windsor, etc. We are happy to organise any sport you may be interested in, including temporary membership of health and fitness clubs. We also organise theatre trips to London.

The University  of Cambridge dates back to the 13th century, which gives the town its unique atmosphere as well as providing examples of some of the most outstanding architecture to be seen anywhere in Europe. Visitors should not miss the magnificent college buildings or the beautiful 'Backs' - the lawns that sweep down to the river from the backs of the colleges. There are museums and galleries to suit every taste from the technical to the artistic. Cambridge has four theatres, two main concert halls, an 'art' cinema as well as commercial multi-screens and innumerable other venues for live performances of all kinds, including classical, jazz and the latest rock music. Those who like sport will find plenty to do: there are several swimming pools and a sports hall, as well as many fitness clubs and classes.

Cambridge is very conveniently placed for London, which is less than one hour away by road or rail. Stansted airport is only half-an-hour away and we would recommend students to use this airport wherever possible. There is an hourly direct bus service to all the London
