General English – available all year
When you study General English you will learn modern ‘standard English’ which will help you communicate easily with people all over the world in all situations from work to holidays.  

You will study in a small group, maximum 10 students, and work on all your skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening – as well as having the opportunity to prepare one of the Cambridge exams if you want to.   Even if you want to go on to prepare an academic exam such as IELTS, or to practise job-specific English, you will still need to have a good level of General English to do well in these areas.
You can prepare for one of the Cambridge exams if you take this course.

Business English – group courses June-September, Combined Course & Immersion all year
We focus on English for a wide range of professional and commercial purposes.....
This course is designed to improve and develop key language areas needed for effective business communication.
At ABC we understand that a good command of English is an essential tool of your trade – we teach you what you need to know to function effectively in the real world. You’ll work on real-life situations, use authentic materials, and be taught by tutors with experience of the business world.

Academic English - group courses June-September, Combined Course & Immersion all year

This course is suitable for students who are intending to study a University course taught in the English language, in the UK or elsewhere. It is open to students of Intermediate level (B1) and above.

It will help you improve your ability to write clearly and concisely and to understand complex pieces of English. We look at the type of materials you may encounter in your studies. Whatever your field of study you will need to write essays and reports, listen to lectures and participate in seminars. You will be expected to argue, explain, ask questions, report and co-operate as a member of a group – we help you do this.
It is also possible to prepare for the I.E.L.T.S & T.O.E.F.L. examinations:

HOURS

20 x 45 minutes per week (09.30 – 12.45 Monday to Friday)

30 x 45 minutes per week (09.30 – 12.45 Monday to Friday + 13.30 – 15.00 Monday to Friday)
